American Advertising Awards Gala Awards the Inland Empire’s Best

Riverside, CA – The top advertising created in the Inland Empire in 2017 was honored by the American Advertising Federation Inland Empire Chapter as part of the American Advertising Awards at the Mission Inn on Friday, March 9. The two-part event honored both student and professional work.

The Professional Competition

The Professional Competition also produced fifteen Gold Award Winners representing entries from ten Inland Empire companies. Pulse Marketing won Best of Show and took home a total of six Gold Awards. First time professional entrant Whiteline Performance was presented with the Special Judges Award.

Other Gold Award winners were San Bernardino County GDU, Geogram, Ignite Design & Adverting, Inc. CSUSB, Coyote Advertising, KVCR, Inland Empire Health Plan, San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office, and the City of Perris.

The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has been recognized with three awards in the 2018 Inland Empire American Advertising ADDY Awards Competition. In the category of “Public Service Online Film, Video & Sound,” the office received a Golden ADDY for Peace Officer Memorial and a Silver Award for Fearless Faith.

“Our goal in all the videos and public service campaigns we create is to keep the public informed about work done by the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office,” said District Attorney Mike Ramos. “Whether we are honoring our fallen officers or raising awareness about domestic violence, we hope that the message resonates with the public we serve.”

Coyote Advertising was established in 2010 and is an on-campus multimedia training facility with a mission to prepare Cal State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) students for 21st century media leadership positions. The on-campus agency is run completely by students and won a Gold in the Professional category for their work on the event “1984 – A Three Part Event”

“It’s not just a club, it’s a real agency where students are working on real-world, paying projects. The students are accountable to our clients, so winning a Gold ADDY is a real achievement for our students and a milestone for our program at CSUSB,” said Jacob Poore, Manager of Coyote Advertising.

The Student Competition

The Student competition was the thirteenth largest student advertising competition in the nation with 109 entries from seven colleges or universities. California Baptist University students Jessica Thomas and Jonathan Logerstedt won top honors by winning the Best-of-Show and Special Judges Award, respectively. Overall California Baptist students took home a total of 14 awards.

Other schools winning the most awards include California State University, San Bernardino with 31 awards, The Art Institute of California – Inland Empire with 29 awards, Mt. San Antonio College won 9 awards, Platt College won 5 awards and Redlands University won 1 award.

The American Advertising Awards Inland Empire Competition is part of the national American Advertising Awards, the world’s largest advertising competition with about 40,000 professional entries in almost 200 local competitions and about 5,000 student entries. Winners in the local competitions move on to complete in one of fifteen district competitions for the right to make it to the national finals. Both the Professional and Student Gold winners in the Inland Empire will move on to compete against the professional and student gold winners in the American Advertising Awards District 15 competition against the winners from the Los Angeles, Orange County, Palm Springs, San Diego, Las Vegas and Coastal California (San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura Counties) competitions
