Arrowhead United Way 2012 Annual Meeting and Awards Breakfast

Arrowhead United Way, a volunteer driven organization that actively supports health and human services by focusing on education, income, and health. These services address the underlying causes of the community’s issues and create lasting change. The organization was established in 1891 and is led by prominent respected community leaders; it is one of the oldest United Ways in the country.

WHAT: 2012 Annual Meeting and Awards Breakfast

WHEN: Thursday, April 19, 2012, 7:15 a.m. to 9 a.m.

WHERE: Valencia Room, National Orange Show Events Center, 930 South Arrowhead Avenue, San Bernardino, CA 92408; Enter through Gate 9

The Annual Meeting and Awards Breakfast is a time for Arrowhead United Way to thank community members and businesses that have contributed greatly to Arrowhead United Way’s efforts in providing support to the community.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION: President Dr. Karnig, California State University San Bernardino, and his wife Marilyn will be receiving an Exemplary Community Service Award to honor them for their involvement in the community and for encouraging others to get involved.

The event is being sponsored by community organizations. Currently, the sponsors include BNSF Railway, Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center, SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, FedEx Corporation, Kohl’s Department Stores, San Bernardino Employment & Training Agency, Kaiser Permanente, Costco Wholesale, and Smith Marion & Company.

This event will be in a banquet setting with networking opportunities before the program. The program will consist of presentations of awards and trophies to community members and businesses. Notable attendees that have RSVP’d thus far include: Patrick Morris, Mayor, City of San Bernardino; Dr. Albert Karnig, President, California State University San Bernardino; and Hardy Brown II, Executive Director, Black Voice Foundation.
