Big Bear Lake International Film Festival Deadlines Approaching

The Big Bear Lake International Film Festival (BBLIFF) encourages scriptwriters to enter the Screenwriting Competition by the 2/25/11 deadline and the Film Competition by the 4/29/11 deadline. All entries can be submitted electronically at www.bigbearlakefilmfestival.com.

Each screenplay submission is evaluated by a team of readers, and the five highest rated scripts are read by an eight-member panel of Hollywood professional producers, agents and managers, who select 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and 2 honorable mentions during the competition.

A previous screenwriting competition winner, Iris Yamashita, realized her dream after being discovered in the BBLIFF competition. A film festival juror, Catherine Tarr at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), recommended the screenwriter to Paul Haggis and Clint Eastwood who were working on a companion production to “Flags of Our Fathers.”

The Big Bear Lake International Film Festival will be celebrating its 12th anniversary at this year’s event; September 15th – 18th, 2011.
