San Bernardino County

San Bernardino consists of 20,160 square miles (51,961 square kilometers), making it the largest county area in the lower states. About 90% of the county is desert; the remainder consists of the San Bernardino Valley and the San Bernardino Mountains.

The San Bernardino Valley is temperate with about 15 inches of rain annually and temperatures ranging from the 30s to the 60s in January and from the 50s to high 90s in July.

Population is approaching 2 million and grew 17% from 1990 to 2000
