Daly R. Cruz started his new position on December 1, 2015

ONTARIO, California (Thursday, December 3, 2015) – Officials with the Ontario Convention Center have announced the addition of Daly R. Cruz as the new Executive Chef of the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, California.  Cruz will oversee all culinary operations, including banquets, meetings, large gala and special events.

Cruz brings over 25 years of culinary experience to Ontario Convention Center.  Born in El Salvador, Central America, Cruz moved to the United States at the age of 13.  He began his career in 1990 with Hyatt in stewarding and learned all kitchen aspects until promoted to a sous chef.  Since 1990 Cruz had worked for Hyatt in five different cities, with multiple positions, from restaurant chef de cuisine to banquet chef, and most recently was executive sous chef for the second largest Hyatt property, the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego.  Cruz has an objective to provide the highest quality of culinary standards with an emphasis on details, customer satisfaction and employee development.  He loves local and authentic cuisines.

Cruz lives in Anaheim Hills with his wife of 11 years, who also has a hotel management background.  Together they have two daughters, ages 8 and 4 years old.  “I love to show my daughters how to cook and share my knowledge on healthy food options” said Daly Cruz.   He loves and enjoys cooking for family and friends, and has a passion for roasting meats and using fresh local products.  His hobbies include playing soccer, basketball and bicycling.
