Ontario City Library Teens Support Troops
During the month of April the Ontario City Library’s Teen Advisory Council will be organizing a DVD and video game collection drive to benefit our troops in Afghanistan.  This community call for support has been planned in conjunction with the J. R. Martinez event at the Ontario Convention Center on April 10, 2013. Ontario City Library Hosts "Full of Heart" Book Discussions
In conjunction with the April 10, 2013 J. R. Martinez speaking event at Ontario Convention Center, the Ovitt Family Community Library is having two book discussions for library customers. Mr. Martinez is an actor, a decorated veteran and the winner of the thirteenth season of “Dancing With the Stars.  His book, “Full of Heart: My Story of Survival, Strength and Spirit,” tells of his experiences in Iraq and talks about his recovery from injuries sustained there.  The book discussions will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013, at 1 PM and again on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 4 PM....

During March, National Women’s History Month, the Ovitt Family Community Library will be screening documentaries about ordinary women doing extraordinary things and making their mark on history.  Selected films examine a variety of themes from different perspectives: women soldiers in combat, the challenges faced by Muslim women, Hispanic mothers as activists, and female Asian labor organizers. Each documentary will be followed by a facilitated discussion.  All films are scheduled to be shown at 6 PM on consecutive Wednesdays: March 6, 2013; March 13, 2013; March 20, 2013; and March 27, 2013.  These screenings are free and open to the public...

BEST-SELLING AUTHOR LAUREN KATE TO SPEAK On Wednesday, September 12, at 3:30 PM the Ovitt Family Community Library will host best-selling author Lauren Kate.  The New York Times best-selling Fallen series follows star-crossed lovers Luce and Daniel through their centuries long love affair.
