101st Consecutive Annual Flower Show in Redlands

For a century, gardening enthusiasts of all ages have come from though out Southern California to enjoy and be inspired by the Redlands Horticultural and Improvement Society Annual Flower Show, Garden Tour and Uncommon Plant Sale.  This premier event will be held April 20 – 21, 2013 in the elegant transparent buildings on the beautiful wooded ESRI campus at 380 New York Street, Redlands 92373.

Everyone is invited to California’s First 101st Consecutive Annual Flower Show that will be filled with countless remarkable horticultural specimens and artful floral designs plus spectacular Special Exhibits featuring “Flowers through the Lens” by the century-old Redlands Camera Club, special presentations by noted Organic Gardener Linda Evans in the new Flower Show Plaza and more. In honor of Earthday, free trees will be given to Flower Show guests (while supply lasts).

On the same days, visitors will stroll through delightful springtime gardens showcased on the RHIS Annual Garden Tour and they can shop for “Uncommon Plants” at the RHIS Plant Propagation Yard in historic Prospect Park. These events will be open Saturday 2 – 6 pm and Sunday 10 am – 5 pm.  Tickets – which include all events and are good for both days – will be $10.00 for adults and children – 13 and under with an adult – are Free.

Everyone is welcome to take part in this historic event which for a century has allowed gardeners, experienced experts and kids to publicly display their individual flowers, plants, unique specimens and floral arrangements and compete for awards by certified judges. There is no charge to enter an exhibit in the Flower Show and entries are always welcome.

Since its founding in 1889, Redlands Horticultural and Improvement Society – the oldest garden club in California – has held more than 123 Flower Shows in Redlands. They began presenting consecutive Annual Flower Shows in 1913.   Redlands Horticultural and Improvement Society is an active member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., a Charter Member of the California Garden Clubs, Inc. and an affiliate member of the American Rose Society.
