Fontana, California, November 22, 2011 – The Mayor and City Council invite the public to come out and play at Fontana’s free Festival of Winter. The 12th Annual Festival of Winter starts at 11 a.m. and takes place on Saturday, December 10 at Veterans Park, located at 17255 Merrill Avenue.
The theme for this year is “Fontana’s Ski Lodge” and activities include a skating rink, game zone, arts and crafts, bounce houses for the kids, and multiple onstage performances throughout the day. Additionally, there are food vendors and other local vendors available for those who want to grab a bite to eat or maybe do some holiday shopping.
Before the festivities at Veterans Park get started, the Fontana Exchange Club will host the annual Christmas parade down Sierra Avenue at 10 a.m. The Christmas Parade is an annual Fontana tradition and often attracts volunteers from over 60 local organizations and groups, making it an exciting mix of marching bands, local clubs and floats.
Residents are also encouraged to welcome in the new winter season during the Tree Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday, December 7th at the City Hall Courtyard located at 8353 Sierra Avenue. The ceremony starts at 6 p.m.
