On Saturday, October 7, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Big Bear Valley shows off its charm and architecture during the 38th Annual Hearth and Home Tour, sponsored by Soroptimist International of Big Bear Valley.

This year, in addition to the traditional home tour, guests are offered the opportunity to experience a Wine and Cheese Tasting event held from 12 noon until 3:00 p.m. in Big Bear’s beautiful mountain setting.
The Hearth and Home Tour is a great opportunity to appreciate unique Big Bear architecture as home hostesses guide you through a collection of amazing homes from historic log cabins to modern, rustic McMansions. Find it all in Big Bear Valley. Experience the colors and aromas of autumn in as residents open their homes to the public. “Fall is absolutely the most spectacular time of year in Big Bear,” said Dawn Marschinke, Committee Chair for the Hearth and Home Tour. “The fall colors that surround these homes provide a natural accent. Our guests will not only get to experience remarkable homes, but they will experience the ambiance of the fall season in Big Bear. The Wine and Cheese Tasting event will give our guests the opportunity to taste a unique selection five wines while enjoying our beautiful forest at the exceptional Alpenhorn Bed & Breakfast Inn.”
Big Bear Lake is recognized as one of the few places in Southern California where one can see such a spectacular display of fall foliage. Evening temperatures are cool, providing the perfect conditions for leaves to turn brilliant shades of gold, crimson and amber.
A $30 ticket includes a tour of each home. Tickets for the Wine and Cheese event are available for an additional charge of $15.
