U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $5.5 Million To Build Workforce Training Center in Perris, California
Perris, CA – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $5.5 million grant to the city of Perris, California, to help build the Perris Downtown Skills Training and Job Placement Center. According to grantee estimates, the project is expected to create 325 jobs and spur $10 million in private investment.
“Investment in workforce development and training will further the economic growth and record low unemployment that have been a hallmark of the Trump Administration,”said Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross. “Through the construction of this new center, Perris will expand opportunities for its workers, paving a path for greater success and growth.”
This project supports the construction of the Perris Downtown Skills Training and Job Placement Center. The new center will help the region develop a skilled workforce which is in high demand among local manufacturing businesses and industries. Successful completion of the project will lead to more employment opportunities for workers and increase economic activity in the region.
