7TH Annual READY RIVERSIDE Emergency Preparedness Fair

“Disasters Happen, Prepare Now, Learn How”

RIVERSIDE CA – The City of Riverside Fire Department – Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has joined the national efforts of the Ready Campaign to encourage residents to take action now to prepare before disaster strikes by hosting the 7TH Annual READY RIVERSIDE Emergency Preparedness Fair on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, at Galleria at Tyler Mall, Riverside, south side parking lot of JCPenny.

While September is the month for recognizing national preparedness, the goal is to make preparedness a part of our lives every day. This means having your own food, water, and other supplies in sufficient quantity to last for at least 5 – 7 days or even longer.  The wildfires in the West and hurricanes in Hawaii and out East show the importance of preparing now for a disaster that may impact your life,” said Emergency Services Administrator Mark Annas.

The fair will have displays from; The City of Riverside Fire Department Engine & Rescue Vehicles, Riverside Police Air Support, SWAT, and K-9, American Medical Response, Red Cross, CERT, Operation Lifesaver, the Gas Company, 311 Call Center, Riverside Public Utilities, Amateur Radio Groups and other community resources.

Welcome Kick off at 11:15 am by Fire Chief Michael Moore. Demonstrations by Fire Dept. CA-TF6 Search K-9 12:00 noon & Police Search K-9 Demo 1:30 pm. Get tips on developing a family emergency plan and learn how emergency services respond to disasters. Learn hands only CPR. Kids can learn about fire safety going through the Fire Safety Trailer.
