Foresters Financial and KaBOOM! Put Kids First in San Bernardino
San Bernardino, CA – More than 200 volunteers from Foresters Financial, the City of San Bernardino and the community will join KaBOOM! on Saturday, May 19, 2018 to transform a piece of Perris Hill Park into a kid-designed, state-of-the-art playground in just six hours. The new playground brings a fun and safe place for kids and families to play in San Bernardino.
Play is essential to physical, creative, cognitive, social and emotional development. The new state-of-the-art playground will replace a 17-year old playground located at Perris Hill Park, the city’s largest and most active park. The new playground equipment and site amenities will provide a safe, clean and more family-friendly atmosphere to the park.
In March, kids from the surrounding community came together to draw their dream playground. This project is bringing that vision to life for more than 1,200 kids.
Since 2006, Foresters Financial and KaBOOM! have built 145 beautiful playspaces across 86 cities in 31 states and provinces throughout North America and by the end of 2018, Foresters Financial will have funded more than 150 playgrounds. Thanks to the hard work of more than 9,900 Foresters members, sales partners and guests for the last eleven years, we are positively impacting the lives of more than five million children by providing them with access to play. Through each new playground, families are better able to spend quality time together right in their own neighborhoods, playing alongside Foresters members and community partners.
This playground is part of a broader effort led by Foresters Financial and KaBOOM! to ensure communities have great PLAYces for kids and families. It will be the 146th build by Foresters Financial. Through this partnership, KaBOOM! and Foresters Financial are creating an oasis where kids feel valued and loved, and where their potential is supported, nurtured and celebrated.
