Amazonians pose with the Letha Raney Intermediate Robotics class and their robots
Corona, Calif. – Amazon celebrated National Robotics Week by making a special donation of $10,000 to support Raney Intermediate School’s STEM and robotics program.
“We are always looking for ways to give back locally and support innovative education programming,” said K.C. Singh, general manager of Amazon’s Eastvale fulfillment center. “The jobs of tomorrow require a stronger aptitude for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), which is why we are proud to support the students at Letha Raney Intermediate School using these skills in their robotics programs.”
Alongside a check donation, some of the items donated include:
- VEX mechatronics and programming kits
- VEX aluminum structure kits
- Storage racks for robotics supplies
- Robotics field tiles and more!
“This generous donation will help us expand our program for next year and allow us to teach critical thinking and problem-solving skills to even more students,” said Rock Tsang, Letha Raney Intermediate School STEM teacher.
The STEM and robotics equipment will allow for more students to take advantage of robotics programs and encourage students to pursue STEM education outside of the classroom.
“Our robotics program is still new, so to receive materials and money to help grow the program is an incredible gift, one that would have taken longer without Amazon’s help,” said Michele Sanchez, Letha Raney Intermediate School Principal.
