ARC Riverside to Host Monthly Play Dates

RIVERSIDE, CA – The Arc of Riverside County, in partnership with Shane’s Inspiration and the City of Riverside Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department, will host My Play Club® on Saturday, June 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fairmount Park Universally Accessible Playground in Riverside, California.

My Play Club ® is a monthly play date program for children with and without disabilities, designed to promote inclusion and break down barriers.  On the third Saturday of each month, The Arc brings families together at the Universally Accessible Playground to participate in a fun-filled event bringing friendship and awareness to hundreds of children in the community.  The day’s activities will include entertainment, face painting and refreshments for My Play Club ® registrants.  Registration is FREE and can be done via The Arc’s website at ArcRiverside.org.

A play date sounds so simple, but when you pair a child with and a child without a disability together for the first time in their lives…magic happens.  Children of all abilities playing together at a young age promotes acceptance and contributes to the City of Riverside’s goal of a more inclusive community.

The Arc of Riverside County is a private, non-profit corporation committed to securing for all individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities, in partnership with their families, legal guardians or conservators, the opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they learn, live, work and play.

This event is endorsed by the City of Riverside Commission on Disabilities and Parks and
Recreation Commission.
