Fontana, California, July 19, 2011. The Mayor and City Council invite the public to take advantage of Fontana Youth Sports programs this fall by registering their children currently in fourth through eighth grade for Youth Flag Football before the September 12 deadline.
Registration fees for the eight-week program are $55 per child for residents and $65 for non-residents. Registration is August 1 through September 12 for residents and September 1 through September 12 for non-residents.
There are three different divisions based on age. Division A players are born between 1997 and 1999, and in no higher than the eighth grade; Division B players are born between 1999 and 2001, and in no higher than the sixth grade; and Division C players are born between 2001 and 2003, and in no higher than fourth grade. The Mondays and Wednesdays sessions will be held at Southridge Park, 14501 Live Oak Ave., beginning October 3. The Tuesdays and Thursdays session will be held at Hunter’s Ridge Park, 5220 Cherry Ave., beginning October 4.
Registration is taken on a first-come basis at all City of Fontana Community Centers and will not be accepted without the following required information: a waiver, release & indemnity agreement, birth certificate, signed parent’s oath and payment. Registration fees include a program shirt and award.
