Art Comes Alive at the Fontana Arts Festival

Fontana, Calif. – The City of Fontana invites the community and region to explore the largest art festival in the Inland Empire at the 8th Annual Fontana Arts Festival taking place in Downtown Fontana on Saturday, July 30th. The free festivities will take place on Sierra Avenue between Seville Avenue and Orange Way in conjunction with the Sunset on Sierra event. The festival kicks off at 5:00 p.m. and continues until 10:00 p.m. Celebrate arts and culture with an emphasis on creating entertaining and interactive opportunities with local emerging artists.

The Fontana Arts Festival, featured on Sierra Avenue between Seville Avenue and Arrow Boulevard will showcase a variety of artists, entertainment in an open streets pedestrian and bicycle-friendly atmosphere. The programming will feature a 3D Chalk Art display, a 3D Glow in the Dark booth, live on-stage musical performances by The Jay Leno Show opening band the Soulville Band, saxophonist Jason Klunk, Afro-Latin band QUITAPENAS, muralist Armani Carter, children’s programming, free interactive art activities, caricature and balloon artists and more.

This year the Arts Festival and Sunset on Sierra combined will provide event-goers an opportunity to re-imagine Downtown Fontana, giving a preview of potential street improvements that can be implemented as part of the Active Transportation Plan and General Plan update, while enjoying art, music, local eateries and fun, family-friendly activities. Sunset on Sierra festivities will take place from on Sierra Avenue, between Arrow Boulevard and Orange Way.

Sunset on Sierra will showcase temporary, complete street installations on Arrow Boulevard, that make it safer, easier and more enjoyable for people to walk and bike. The City hopes to receive valuable feedback from the community to develop their Active Transportation Plan which will guide future plans for street improvements.
