BASICS OF BUSINESS LAW WORKSHOP SET FOR MARCH 7 AT CVWBC

PALM DESERT, Calif. – The Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center at Cal State San Bernardino will host a workshop on Wednesday, March 7 for existing or prospective business owners on the basics of business law.

“The Basics of Business Law” is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the center’s office at 77-806 Flora Road, Suite A, just off Washington and the 10 freeway, in Palm Desert.

The workshop will explore various business entities, what licenses and permits are necessary to open a business, what needs to be covered in a contract, the proper use of independent contractors, general business ethics, and when to get professional advice.

Facilitator for the workshop is Kathie Browne, J.D., who specializes in Business Law, Estate Planning, and Real Estate Law. Ms Browne received her J.D. from Southwestern University, and her LL.M. in Corporate Law from New York University.

The Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center is a program of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The CVWBC provides business counseling, training and mentoring designed for women business owners.

The program provides services in English and Spanish to Latina business owners, currently the fastest growing group of women business owners in the country.

The Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center’s hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday by appointment only.
