Benefit Concert with CCMA Musician and Entertainer of the Year, Dennis Agajanian

GOD’S CREATURES BENEFIT CONCERT- SAVE THE ANIMALS FEATURING:
CCMA Musician and Entertainer of the Year, Dennis Agajanian

Murrietta, Ca.-Save the Animals Today was originally formed in 2004 as a public adoption day for dogs and cats. Animal rescue groups from Riverside Animal Control and Animal Friends of the Valleys to breed rescues and individuals involved in rescue were invited to bring their animals to the Mt. San Jacinto Campus in Menifee parking lot so the public could shop for their future pets in one location. Pattie Roberts formally of KFROG radio was the main organizer of the event but in 2007 health issues prevented her from continuing. A similar and larger event in Orange County was organized that year and the Pet Expo event held around the same time became the go to events for the rescue groups.

In late 2007 a group of 23 horses were abandoned at Pattie’s ranch and surrendered to the State of California. The State does not adopt out horses as they do dogs and cats and the horses were to be euthanized. No one wanted that to happen and in a moment of emotional compassion Pattie agreed to take custody of the horses and save their lives. At that point the non profit Save the Animals Today became a horse rescue. There were young foals as well as aged broodmares in that first group of horses. The untrained horses Pattie broke to ride and sold to support the other harder to place horses. Each time an article about the rescue was written Pattie received not donations but more horses destine for death unless she took them in. Today Save the Animals Today cares for about 30 rescued horses, numerous goats, two pigs, sheep and a huge dairy cow who was supposed to be Veal. The ranch is located on 11 acres in Murrieta.

The economy has made developing a donation base very hard. Pattie has used her saving account, sold most of her own horses and gives riding lessons to keep the rescue operation afloat. Not a week goes by that someone doesn’t call with a sad story and a horse needing placement.

The upcoming God’s Creatures Benefit Concert featuring multiple time CCMA Muscian and Entertainer of the Year, Dennis Agajanian, will hopefully bring many new people to the rescue facility. All proceeds raised from the event will go to feed the animals of Save the Animals Today. The ultimate goal is to secure a monthly donation of just $25 from 200 people and have all the existing horses sponsored. This unique facility is beautifully maintained by a group of volunteers who enjoy being outdoors around these magnificent animals. The horses for the most part are in individual stalls and the volunteers and sponsors make sure each horse gets its share of attention and carrots.

The first Saturday of each month the ranch hosts an Open Barn so folks can come see and pet what their donations make possible. The other Saturdays of the month from Noon – 4pm the rescue horses are used to give rides for donations, a program dubbed “Will work for Feed”.

This is the first annual benefit concert and will feature a fine barbecue, beer & wine from local breweries (pending) face painting, pictures with the horses, bounce house and great raffle items in addition to an awesome up close and personal performance by Dennis Agajanian.

Tickets can be purchased on line with Pay Pal, Master Card or Visa at http:www.SaveTheAnimalsToday.org for $25,

(children under 12 for $15) which includes a delicious barbecue or $15 for the concert only.

Barbecue starts at Noon and the entertainment starts at 2pm.
