Big Bear Lake – The Adult Learning & Referral Center is offering three upcoming classes for money management, English as a Second Language and How to Write a Resume. The Adult Learning & Referral Center located at 40946 Big Bear Blvd in Bear Lake, CA 92315
“Make your Dollars and ‘Sense’ Work until Next Payday”
According to the instructor, Peg Jones, the Dollars = your money while the “Sense” = your thinking process, planning and adapting to your budget which she will address in her class. The class will be in two sessions, the first session will be Wednesday, May 4, 2016 and the second session will be Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The Peg Jones has over 20 years of banking experience.
The class will address how to save money by budgeting, smart shopping at the grocery store, how to avoid credit card spending and learning to live within your income. The instructor will address how to start controlling family finances. Other areas that will be covered is how to write checks, balance your bank statement, making deposit and much more.

English as a Second Language or ESL Classes
ESL Classes will be offered for those individuals interest in learning English. The Adult Learning and Referral Center is providing these classes starting May 4, thru June 8th, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Cristina Salas will be the instructor. If you know of anyone who can benefit by this free class, please pass the information out to them.
The classes will be held at the Adult Learning & Referral Center located at 40946 Big Bear Blvd in Bear Lake, CA 92315. The Center is located on the premises of the Community Church. This is a Big Bear Hummingbird Project, 501(c)3 nonprofit program and the class fee of $5.00 will help pay for some of the class materials.
FREE Job Application and Resume Writing Workshop
The workshop is on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 1:00 am to 4:00 pm. This Workshop will help prepare you for the Career Fair that will be held on May 10, 2016 at Big Bear High School. As a job seeker, you will have to fill out one or more application forms. Employers do read the forms, and the way you prepare the application can make a big difference in getting an interview and being hired for the job. Resumes are important to give the prospective employer information about your background, i.e. education, work experience, etc. Be prepared and attend this Workshop!!!
