“Scams, Schemes & Damn Machines” at Big Bear Computer Club Meeting

Big Bear, CA – The Big Bear Computer Club’s General Meeting will be June 14, 2016 at the Bear Valley Senior Center, 42651 Big Bear Blvd, Big Bear Lake, CA. The meeting starts at 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm. The meeting is open to the general public.   The presenter at this meeting will be Jim McFarlin who is an author and popular national speaker on cybersecurity, cybercrime and cyberterrorism. Jim McFarlin will speak on cybersecurity; his presentation, Scams, Schemes & Damn Machines is designed to help all of us protect ourselves from the threats of cyberattacks and cybercrime.

A former Air Force officer and Silicon Valley high-tech CEO who participated first-hand in the evolution of four generations of computing, Jim is in a unique position to provide informed perspective on the escalating cyber threats to America’s future.  Jim has recently addressed the World Affairs Council of the Desert, the TAIA Global Cyber Security Conference in New York, the Lincoln Club of Coachella Valley and the Churchill Society in British Columbia, among others.  He is vice-chair of the Rancho Mirage Emergency Preparedness Commission where he leads the Business Cybersecurity initiative which equips local businesses to reduce their risks from cybercrime.
