Brockus Conservatory Of Dance and Musical Theater -Audition for Second Semester-

A new addition to America’s pre-professional arts schools is now open in the beautiful town of Redlands, California, located one hour east of Los Angeles.  Brockus Conservatory is unique among boarding schools with its focus to develop versatile, cross-trained performers.

We are currently accepting applications for second semester enrollment. Ages 10-19.

Brockus Conservatory was founded by Deborah Brockus who saw a gap in training for the next generation of young professionals. Deborah Brockus is most noted for being a creative pioneer in the dance community of Southern California.  She brings with her an extensive background in performing and producing dance theatre.  Deborah has held leading positions with performing arts training organizations such as: Dance Department Chair at Idyllwild Arts Academy, Dance Chair of California Conservatory of Arts, Faculty Member of Orange County High School of the Arts, Faculty Member at Debbie Reynolds Studios and Tremaine Studio in addition to her many stage, film and TV credits. Ms Brockus is renown for her teaching both in America and in Europe. As a teacher her students have won many awards including: Princes Grace Award, Spotlight Award and the National Arts Recognition Award. Her students’ work in international and national modern and ballet companies, jazz companies, on Broadway and in the Hollywood industry. And they have been accepted into Julliard, NYU, Sony Purchase and many other top programs.

Our Dance major is designed to create dancers ready to work in today’s diverse world These dancers will be able to easily work in both concert and commercial worlds with skills grounded in ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, tap and African. Our dancers majors also participate in voice training and acting classes, Pilates and gyrotonics conditioning, dance history and composition.  With an excellent faculty from LA’s working professionals, Brockus Conservatory’s teachers have been able to create healthy, happy young artists that are working in major companies, on Broadway and in Hollywood.

Our Musical Theater major is designed to create true triple threat performers, strong in dance, voice, and acting. This major has been created with an understanding of the specialized needs of musical theater with dance training every day of the school week acting three time and voice twice in the week.  Our musical theater program is co-directed by David Green, director of Musical Theater University. After working with our amazing faculty, students will be ready to join the faculty’s former students who are working on Broadway and in Hollywood.

A normal day for the students will begin at the academic school of their choice, then off to the Conservatory studios, then home to study and sleep.  Students live in large dorm houses and attend academic classes in their choice of either a local private or public high school. Small class sizes ensure personal attention to help each student develop to their maximum potential. The conservatory will cap enrollment at 60 students. Interaction with the Los Angeles arts community and visiting artists, enables the students to develop professional connections before graduation.

Local enrollment is now open for day students both in our high school program and in our jr prep academy for students ages11-13.
