Call For Volunteers For The Route 66 Rendezvous®

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – Join the dynamic group of volunteers for California’s hottest cruisin’ classic car show, Stater Bros. Route 66 Rendezvous. This year’s Rendezvous is being held September 16 – 19, 2010. The 35-block area of downtown San Bernardino steps back in time with 1,700 classic vehicles cruising the streets. This event is free for the public to enjoy the classic cars, music and entertainment, sponsor displays, legendary guests, contests and vendors.

“Volunteers have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the cars and their owners.  For anyone who truly enjoys classics, this is more fun than work,” states JoAnn Webb, director of corporate relations.  “Volunteers are a vital part of our team.  It takes over 300 hardworking volunteers in order to keep our event running smoothly.”

Volunteer for six hours or for four days.  The schedules are very flexible to accommodate your needs.  Open positions include:

All volunteers will be required to attend an orientation meeting prior to the event.  Volunteer applications and event information are available at the California Welcome Center, 1955 Hunts Lane, San Bernardino (off Hospitality Lane), online at www.ROUTE-66.org, or by calling 909.388.2934. Completed volunteer applications must be received by Monday, August 2, 2010.

Charitable contributions made by The Stater Bros.Route 66 Rendezvous include: The Boys and Girls Club of San Bernardino; the Elks Lodge of San Bernardino, Redlands and Riverside; the Route 66 Museums of Victorville and Barstow; the Public Safety Academy; the Neighborhood Cluster Association; Vietnam Veterans of America – Inland Empire; The Swans Club; Inland Young Marines and U.S. Air Force Recruiting Academy.  The San Bernardino Convention & Visitors Bureau (SBCVB), producers of the Route 66 Rendezvous, is a private, non-profit corporation providing destination sales and marketing services for the City of San Bernardino.
