Candidates’ Public Forum in Redlands

The Redlands Conservancy invites Redlands’ voters to meet the candidates for Redlands City Council at a Candidates’ Public Forum on Monday, October 18, at 6:15pm at the AK Smiley Public Library.  Seven of the eight candidates have confirmed their participation, with candidate Mike Layne not having yet responded.

What: Candidates’ Public Forum
When: Monday, October 18, 6:15-8:30pm
Where: Assembly Room, AK Smiley Public Library
Who: Presented by the Redlands Conservancy; Free and open to the public

“The Redlands Conservancy’s mission is to protect Redlands’ historic built environment and the irreplaceable agricultural and natural environment – the things that separate Redlands from every other community in the Inland Empire,” said Redlands Conservancy Executive Director Sherli Leonard.  “We have questions for the candidates about these issues, and we believe this will be a terrific opportunity for the voters to learn more about the people who want to serve the community.”

Candidates will be invited to make a brief opening statement, then they will receive specific questions generated from the Redlands Conservancy’s board of directors, and from individuals who would like to submit their questions in advance to sleonard@keyway.net.

“It’s always true, but today, perhaps even more so, that citizens need to be vigilant and aware of the community’s needs and how best to serve them,” said Leonard.  “We hope Redlands’ citizens will come to meet and hear from their candidates.”
