Careers in Advertising Panel Discussion at CSUSB Feb. 13

(San Bernardino, CA) AAF-Inland Empire is hosting a panel discussion on careers in advertising, at Cal. State University San Bernardino on Wednesday, Feb. 13. The free event is open to all college students in the Inland Empire and begins at 5:30pm in the basement of the campus library. The university is located at 5500 University Parkway in San Bernardino.

‘Careers in Advertising: How to Rise Above the Crowd’ is being hosted by the Career Development Center. Ad industry panelists are Hank Blank, Carl Prude III, Susan Anderson and Greg Zerovnik.

Jacob Poore, Senior Account Executive at Coyote Advertising, CSUSB and president of the Inland Empire Chapter, American Advertising Federation said, “This is an excellent opportunity for students who want to learn about careers in advertising, branding yourself online, improving your resume and tips and advice on landing your first job.”

Hank Blank runs Blank & Associates, an Orange County advertising, public relations and social networking agency. He has worked at top ad firms in the U.S. on accounts such as McDonald’s, Warner Lambert, Century 21, Labatt’s Breweries, Kellogg’s, Campbell Soup and Unocal.

Carl Prude III is a 2011 CalState San Bernardino graduate who studied sports and entertainment marketing. He started in sales with the Los Angeles Clippers and then worked at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood in advertising and marketing. He currently works for Ignited, a Los Angeles media agency, creating digital advertising strategies for Universal Pictures.

Susan Anderson founded adgrlSu Social Media Management in 2011 after ten years in the advertising and marketing industry with cable companies Comcast and Charter Communications. Recently she was the Western Region Sales Manager for Zvents.com, managing major events for international accounts. Anderson is also an instructor at the Art Institute in San Bernardino.

Greg Zerovnik, PhD., Director of Business Programs at Touro University Worldwide, has taught strategic marketing at CalState San Bernardino and the University of LaVerne. He is the past president of the Inland Empire chapters of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) and the American Marketing Association (AMA). Zerovnik has also taught strategy and marketing at universities in China.
