The musical, written by Cyndi Monroe with original music written by Christopher Marsh and arranged by Carol James, tells the story of a catastrophe-prone USO troupe preparing to perform on Christmas Eve, 1944 in a po-dunk town in Pennsylvania when a enormous blizzard hits, stranding half the troupe out on a turnpike somewhere. The musical is both funny and poignant and provides great Big Band entertainment. Familiar Big Band music, like “In the Mood” and “Sing, Sing, Sing”, keep the musical grounded in the 40’s era. Coupled with these familiar tunes are the lovely original songs like “This Is Home”, “Tight Shoes Tango” and “Best Friend I Ever Had”. Favorite Christmas songs like “I’ll Be Home For Christmas and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas are also featured.
This is a Christmas Show the whole family will love: Funny, Fast-paced and heart-warming. It will be the best gift you give to yourselves this season!
