Chaffey College Appoints Laura Hope as Acting Associate Superintendent of Instruction and Institutional Effectiveness

Rancho Cucamonga, CA – Chaffey College has named Laura Hope acting associate superintendent of instruction and institutional effectiveness. She assumed her new role on Jan. 16.

Hope oversees Chaffey College’s educational programs and services, which serve more than 29,000 students a year. She manages more than 1,000 full- and part-time faculty.

“Laura Hope brings a wealth of experience as an educational leader both at the local and state level,” said Chaffey College Superintendent/President Henry Shannon. “We are honored to have someone of her caliber and level of expertise leading the academic vision of Chaffey College.”

Hope has served as executive vice chancellor for educational services at the California Community College’s Chancellor’s Office since 2017. She led major initiatives including Vision for Success, Guided Pathways, the Student-Centered Funding Formula and the Student Equity and Achievement Program, among other efforts.

She worked with other vice chancellors on policy planning, managed educational services budgets totaling more than $450 million and served as representative of the chancellor and Chancellor’s Office during legislative hearings.

Hope is a Chaffey College alumna and a longtime Chaffey employee, having served nearly 20 years as a faculty member. She helped create numerous programs including Turning Point in the California Institution for Women and California Institution for Men, as well as the Basic Skills Transformation, which led to the Success Center network.

As dean, she led the Success Center network, and helped develop the Faculty Success Center and the Classified Success Network. Laura has also led and supported Chaffey’s library and cybrary sites, including online services and support.
