Charity Wine Dinner Supports Heart Disease Education and Real Estate Scholarships

INLAND EMPIRE, CA–CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Inland Empire and the American Heart Association Inland Empire Division are hosting the 2nd Annual “Wine Does the Heart Good” charity dinner event on Oct. 25. The event is being held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Victoria Club, 2521 Arroyo Drive in Riverside. Highlights of the event will include a full dinner, complimentary wine and a silent auction.

This charity event was established last year to raise funds to provide scholarship opportunities to local young women pursuing careers in commercial real estate, and to create awareness about female heart disease.

“Heart disease is now the number one cause of death among women,” said Judi Staats, president of CREW Inland Empire. “The event allows attendees to practice a healthy heart exercise–sharing a glass of wine with friends–while raising funds for heart disease education and real estate scholarships.”

Proceeds from the event will go to support the American Heart Association’s community outreach programs that educate people about the cause and prevention of heart attacks. A portion of the proceeds will also go to CREW Inland Empire’s scholarship program, which aims to mentor and increase the number of women working in the commercial real estate industry.

“Combining networking, food and wine, and a chance to support both healthy heart education and scholarships for women in the real estate industry helped make last year’s fundraiser a sold out event,” said Mary Sullivan, CREW Inland Empire special events board member. “This year we expanded the event and invite all local community and business members to join us for good food, wine and a chance to give back.  Basically a chance to – Sip, savor, socialize and support.”

Local business and community members are invited to support the cause. Attendance is $55 before Oct. 18, and $65 after. Register at www.crew-ie.org.
