City of Ontario to have Fire Department Open House

On Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 9 AM, the City of Ontario Fire Department will host its annual Open House event to commemorate National Fire Prevention Week at the Ontario Fire Training Center.  This event will feature live firefighting and rescue demonstrations, as well as static displays of fire apparatus.  Some of the local agencies and organizations displaying safety related information include: Fire and Burn Foundation, California Highway Patrol, Upland Fire Department’s Reach Helicopter and several City of Ontario Departments.

The Ontario Fire Department Open House is an exciting way for children and adults to meet their local first responders.  Come learn more about the services they provide and gain valuable information about fire prevention.  Children will have an opportunity to visit the Fire Safety House, squirt a real fire hose, and take pictures with Sparky the Fire Dog and Freddy the Fire Truck.

The Open House event is free to the public.  The Ontario Fire Explorers will be hosting a fundraiser by selling food and refreshments for a small cost.  The Ontario Fire Training Center is located at 1408 E. Francis Street, Ontario.  For more information, please call (909) 395-2029.
