A company called “United Support” who is claiming that they are out of Riverside, CA is asking for donations. They are claiming to be affiliated with the Riverside Fire Department as well as the Riverside Firefighters Association.
The Riverside Fire Department and the Riverside Firefighters Association do not solicit donations in this manner nor any of our affiliates. At this time, this appears to be a scam.
The Riverside Fire Department has received several inquiries into an organization called “The Firefighters Association,” “Association of Firefighters and Paramedics” and similar names calling to ask for donations for various fire department reasons including a bike run.
The phone numbers associated with this scam include (but may not be limited to): 713-489-6473 and 713-489-1314. If you are contacted about this please do not fall prey to them, contact the Riverside Police Department at 951-354-2007 with any information that you have regarding this apparent scam.
