City to Hold Introductory Meeting for Eastvale General Plan Advisory Committee

EASTVALE, CA – The City of Eastvale will hold the first meeting of its General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 as part of an initial step in creating the City’s first General Plan. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, which will be held at Rosa Parks Elementary School in Eastvale at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be a joint session with the Eastvale Planning Commission, which will resume its regular business at the conclusion of the General Plan portion of the agenda.

The GPAC was formed to assist City staff in the preparation of the City’s first General Plan. The ten-member committee will serve in an advisory capacity, providing input that will help guide policy decisions. The GPAC is made up of members of the community with a variety of backgrounds.

At the meeting, GPAC members will be provided with a brief introduction to the General Plan and how it will be prepared. Future meetings of the GPAC will include a review of draft chapters of the General Plan, which will ultimately be reviewed by the Planning Commission and presented to the City Council for approval.

About the Eastvale General Plan
The General Plan is a long-range plan that addresses the topics vital to creating a thriving, well-balanced and sustainable community. The Eastvale General Plan will carry forward elements of the County of Riverside General Plan and add goals and policies that address Eastvale-specific issues identified by the City Council and Planning Commission. Chapters in the General Plan will include Land Use, Circulation, Housing, Conservation, Safety, Economics, Design, Healthy Community and Arts and Culture.
