5,000 Degrees and Certificates at Riverside Community College District Commencement

Riverside, CA – Riverside Community College District’s colleges will celebrate the Class of 2016 with commencement ceremonies on Thursday, June 9.  Riverside City College, which celebrated its Centennial anniversary in 2016, will graduate its 99th class at 6 pm on Wheelock Field. Moreno Valley and Norco colleges, which celebrated their 25th anniversaries, will hold commencement at 5:30 pm and 6 pm, respectively.  MVC’s will be held at College Park and Norco’s ceremony will take place on the soccer field.

The three colleges plan on awarding more than 5,000 degrees and certificates.

RCC’s class will see 3,345 students receiving awards with 2,595 associate degrees and 751 certificates. College officials are expecting more than 1,000 RCC students to participate in the commencement ceremony.

MVC will graduate 610 students with associate degrees and another 176 students with certificates. The College will recognize 130 students who will graduate with distinction and 62 students with great distinction.

Meanwhile, NC will see 1,339 students graduate with a total of 888 degrees and certificates – 760 associate degrees and 128 certificates. College officials are expecting 300 students to participate in this year’s commencement ceremony.

All three colleges will be graduating students transitioning to some of the nation’s top colleges and universities, including UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, and California State Universities San Bernardino, Fullerton, Los Angeles, and Long Beach, among others.
