Concert on the Green in Fawnskin

Friends of Fawnskin is proud to sponsor this year’s Concert at the Green, entitled “A Guy, A Girl and A Piano (and occasionally a cello)”  featuring the beautiful vocals of Nancy Celeste Walker, on Saturday evening, August 13th, at 7:00 pm in the lush garden at the The Inn at Fawnskin.  AccompanyingNancy will be Big Bear’s own “Piano Man”, the accomplished pianist Mike Cross, as well as Fawnskin’s own talented, professional cellist, Peggy Baldwin.  The evening’s program will followNancy’s musical career, starting with songs from the 70’s, moving through jazz standards, and including both humorous and poignant cabaret selections.  Song selections include “Someone To Watch Over Me”, “Lullaby of Birdland”, “You’ve Got A Friend”, “The Nearness of You”, a bossa nova medley and many more.

There will be some fabulous items auctioned at intermission, including a signature Schecter Acoustic Guitar, a kayak, and prints from renowned wildlife artist, Susan Labouri.  Raffle prizes will also be drawn, and concert tickets include one free raffle ticket.  Wine and Cheese will be served.  Tickets are $30 and can be obtained by calling the Inn at Fawnskin at (909) 866-3200.

Friends of Fawnskin is a non-profit organization, consisting of a group of local residents and visitors who are dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of our valley.  The group is not anti-development, rather, their intent is to assure that a proper, legal process is done for all development in Big Bear Valley and that it appropriately allows community input. They support the purchase of pristine areas by outside groups whose intentions are to keep those areas pristine for future generations
