Corona Business Assistance Program Offers Workshop

CORONA BUSINESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM OFFERS WORKSHOP ON SELLING YOUR PRODUCTS TO THE GOVERNMENT

CORONA, Calif. — The Inland Empire Women’s Business Center at Cal State San Bernardino will hold a workshop on Wednesday, May 16, in Corona to help people who are at the beginning stages of operating their own businesses gain an understanding of what certifications are available and how these certifications may help your business sell your products to the local, state and federal governments.

There are numerous opportunities for small businesses to sell to the government! This seminar will provide you with a simple overview of how to sell your products and services to the Federal, State and Local Government. The “Introduction to Doing Business with the Government” workshop will be presented by Karla Gonzalez, Business Consultant with the Inland Empire SBDC and will include topics such as:
• Selling to the Federal Government
• State & Local Contracting
• Basic Contract Types
• Small Business Resources
• Solicitation Preparation
• M/W/DVBE Certification
• Effective Marketing Methods

“Doing Business With the Government,” will be from 6-8 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Corona City Hall, 400 S. Vicentia Ave., in Corona. The interactive session will focus on the role of an entrepreneur, and will present the steps to take when starting a business.

Participants will receive contact information for the myriad of government and business entities that are part of the start-up process. The workshop also will have information on funding sources for local existing and aspiring small business owners.

The event is presented by the Corona Women’s Business Partnership, which is organized by the Inland Empire Women’s Business Center in collaboration with the Corona Business Assistance Program. Corona business owners and residents have access to the Corona Business Assistance Program as a resource partner in their pursuit of small business growth and success.

The CBA program offers monthly start-up workshops and provides free business counseling by appointment only each Wednesday and Thursday at the Corona Public Library.

The Inland Empire Women’s Business Center is a program of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The IEWBC provides business counseling, training and mentoring designed for women business owners. The program also offers services in English and Spanish to Latina business owners, currently the fastest growing group of women who own businesses in the country.

The Inland Empire Women’s Business Center’s hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday by appointment only.
