County of Riverside Investment Fund Receives Highest Possible Rating

Riverside, CA – A major financial rating company has once again affirmed the safety and security of funds that the Riverside County Treasurer’s offices invests and protects on behalf of local government agencies.

The Treasurer’s Pooled Investment Fund consists of $5 billion to $8 billion pooled among the county, school districts and numerous local cities and government agencies. Fitch Ratings affirmed the fund’s AAA rating, which is the highest possible rating.

“The safety of these funds is the Treasurer’s No. 1 priority,” said Jon Christensen, Riverside County’s elected Treasurer-Tax Collector. “We continuously work to balance financial safety against stable growth in the fund and this affirms that we have achieved our goals.”

The top rating indicates the fund’s high credit quality and underscores the exceptional safety, security and liquidity within the fund’s portfolio. Any investment carries a risk of loss but the AAA rating illustrates the minimal overall risk to the agencies’ public funds.
