CRESTLINE: Lake Gregory’s Independence Day Boat Parade

FLOAT YOUR PARTIOTIC BOAT AT LAKE GREGORY’S
INDEPENDENCE DAY BOAT PARADE

CRESTLINE, CA – Visitors escaping the valley and desert heat this Independence Day Weekend may join the cool, mountain lake festivities, Sunday, July 8th at the Lake Gregory Regional Park Boat Parade and Independence Day Celebration. Participants can decorate and sail their own boat, or just relax in the cooler temperatures and watch the procession.

Teams will decorate park boats and vie for votes in six categories: corporate, family and friends, best animation, “proud to be an American,” “my home of the brave,” and kids’ choice entries. All may cast a vote for their favorite beginning at 4 p.m. and be entered into a drawing to win great prizes.

Entry is $20 for five-person teams, and includes the use of a park row boat and marine batteries and accessories for plug-in lights. Entries will be judged by a panel, as well as spectators, on representation of theme and creativity and the top vote getters will be awarded special prizes.

Deadline to enter the boat parade is Friday, June 29. For more information call (909) 338-2233 or (909) 387-2461.

Lake Gregory Regional Park has swimming and water slides at the west end of the lake and a walking trail that circles the entire lake. The south shore is a popular fishing destination, in addition to playing host to Crestline’s Independence Day Celebration, and the Dragon Boat Races in August. It is located at 24171 Lake Drive, Crestline, CA 92325, about a 20 minute drive north of the City of San Bernardino.
