CREW Inland Empire Speaks on California Property Tax Controversy
INLAND EMPIRE, Calif.  – CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Inland Empire’s May luncheon will feature Rex Hime, who will discuss California’s property tax roll controversy and the importance of understanding the profound effect splitting the tax roll would have on commercial real estate transactions and the economy of California. The event will be held Thursday, May 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Ontario-Airport 3663 East Guasti Road in Ontario.

Hime, the president and chief executive officer for the California Business Properties Association, is a native Californian and is the designated legislative advocate for many organizations including the Internal Council of Shopping Centers, the California chapters of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and the Institute of Real Estate Management.

“Whether or not to completely or partially repeal Proposition 13 a common topic of discussion in the State Capital as a way to ‘fix’ the budget. What is not being discussed is the direct impact that decision will have on commercial real estate and the business community. We are excited to offer the unique opportunity to interact with Mr. Hime,” said Jennifer Guenther, CREW Inland Empire’s publicity chair. “He is extremely knowledgeable and well versed on many of the challenges concerning the property tax situation in California and is able to give insight on this critical topic for commercial property owners.”

Local business and community members are invited to attend. Attendance is $35 for members and $45 for non-members before April 27 after which time a $10 late registration fee will be charged. Register at www.crew-ie.org
