San Bernardino, Ca – Following a national search, Rachel Beech, currently the assistant vice president of Admissions, Outreach and Transition in the Division of Student Affairs at Cal State San Bernardino, has been appointed the university’s associate vice president for Enrollment Management. She will begin her new position on July 1.
“I am excited to continue to serve at CSUSB and truly looking forward to taking my next professional step as a part of the Pack,” Beech said. “As AVP for Enrollment Management, I plan to bring these critical service areas together to identify the ways in which we can smooth policy and procedure to ease steps for students as they transition to and through CSUSB on their path toward earning their degree.”
“She will continue to advance many of her exceptional efforts in her new position,” said Shari McMahan, CSUSB provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, in her announcement of Beech. “I am confident she will have the support of the campus community in her new position as she advances Enrollment Management and the university as a whole.”
In her new position, Beech will provide leadership for the development, implementation, communication and ongoing assessment of a comprehensive and strategic approach to enrollment services at the San Bernardino and Palm Desert campuses. She will also lead and oversee the Offices of Admissions, Outreach and Transitions, Financial Aid and Scholarships, and the Registrar’s Office.
“The Enrollment Management team will be a partner for on- and off-campus entities as we support students in their CSUSB journey,” Beech said. “It is my vision that we are a resource, providing assistance and guidance and to be seen as experts in our professional disciplines, supporting our colleagues in our collective goal of moving the student toward graduation.”
Prior to joining CSUSB in 2016, Beech served in several related leadership roles at the University of Arizona.
She also currently serves as director of membership development for the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) – College Student Educators International, one of 13 elected positions for the organization, which serves almost 6,000 professionals in student affairs and higher education.
Beech holds a doctorate and a master’s degree in higher and postsecondary education from Arizona State University, as well as two bachelor’s degrees – one in history and one in anthropology – from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
