“The Rains House is truly a gem of our county, a part of our region’s early history,” said Nielsen. “We will examine the building materials and techniques used to construct this beautiful building, one of the oldest fired brick structures remaining in our county. We’ll also delve back in time to find out more about life in our region in the 1860s, when the Rains House was first built and occupied.”
The John Rains House, a San Bernardino County Museum historic site, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located at 8810 Hemlock in Rancho Cucamonga. Parking is free.
