Ecclesia Christian Fellowship 20th Anniversary

(SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.)  On May 13-15, 2011, Ecclesia Christian Fellowship will celebrate its 20th Anniversary with three event filled days.  The 2011 Reflections Celebration theme is “Renewing Our Spiritual Service”.

The celebration will begin on Friday night with a slamming hip-hop youth & young adult concert at Ecclesia featuring Flame, Shachah, Iz-Real and other exciting artists.  A “Family & Friends Day” picnic will be held on Saturday at Hunt Elementary School.  There will be plenty of delicious food and a multitude of games and thrilling activities.

One worship service will be held on Sunday morning at 10:30a.m.  Pastor Raymond Turner of Temple Missionary Baptist Church will be the special guest speaker.  The service will include the annual recognition of volunteers; those volunteers who have gone above and beyond in ministry to the body of Ecclesia will be honored with the Taft T. Newman Distinguished Service Award.

The weekend will culminate with a 20th Anniversary Banquet at the National Orange Show Renaissance Room.  Special guest speaker will be Pastor Danny Carroll of Water of Life Church in Fontana with special music by Sydne Denece Alexander-Hudson.

A little over 20 years ago a young minister was confronted with a very devastating event in his life.   Nearing the lowest point in his life, God met him and gave him a vision.  He told him that I need you “TO PICK UP THE PIECES” in the lives of My people just as I had done in yours.

God placed in motion the beginning of the vision He had imparted to the young minister with a Bible study group in February 1991.   Upon receiving its non-profit tax exempt status on May 13, 1991, Ecclesia Christian Fellowship began official worship services.

The young minister, Pastor Joshua Beckley, continues to see his vision realized through the ministry of Ecclesia.  “As we celebrate our 20th year we find at this point we have come this far by faith. It’s by faith we look to the next 20 years with our eyes on the Lord, with praise and thanksgiving!” stated Pastor Beckley.

On September 19, 1991, Ecclesia Christian Fellowship original members Christian and Torria Peacock gave birth to the first baby born at Ecclesia, Ambyr Julianna.  That baby has grown into a wonderful young lady who loves and serves the Lord and is now a sophomore student at California State University – San Bernardino, majoring in Communications.

“With the birth of a child, as parents you have the opportunity to love and nurture them.  You pour into them what God pours into you.  You watch them grow into one of God’s greatest blessings in your life,” stated Torria.  “The same is true for Ecclesia Christian Fellowship, a home where believers are loved and nurtured until they grow into God’s greatest blessing and witnesses unto the world.  So in celebrating 20 years we feel it is a tremendous honor and joy to have seen them both grow and mature right before our eyes.”
