“Equal Access to a Place to Call Home” DVD Premiere at the Grove
Celebrating the Anniversary of the 1968 Fair Housing Act

WHAT: Since the passage of the Fair Housing Act on April 11, 1968 prohibiting discrimination in housing, the month of April has been celebrated as Fair Housing month by Fair Housing advocates nationwide.

In honor of this historic anniversary, Inland Fair Housing and Mediation Board will present a FREE Fair Housing Celebration to premiere the release of a new educational DVD entitled “Equal Access to a Place to Call Home”.

The DVD, funded by a grant from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) introduces fair housing laws and teaches the importance of recognizing and reporting discrimination in housing. Through the stories of five individuals who share their housing experiences throughout the DVD, the project shows the impact of discrimination and unfair lending in the local community.

The event will include a live performance of original songs “No Place Like Home”, “A Place to Belong”, and “This is Where I Live”, which were written and produced specifically for the DVD. Seating is limited and tickets are required to attend. Call 1-800-321-0911 EXT. 108 to reserve your FREE tickets today.
