March Field Air Museum: SR-71 Weekend 2019

SR-71 March Field

Join us on Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7, 2019 for SR-71 Weekend 2019. The weekend will feature panel discussions from SR-71 crew members at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. The assembled former crew members will discuss their experiences with the SR-71 and answer questions from the audience during these approximately 90-minute panel sessions. Also both days, a “cockpit discussion” will be led by SR-71 pilot Lt Col Jerry Glasser (USAF retired) starting at 1 p.m. This discussion will take place adjacent to the museum’s SR-71, 61-7975, which is housed in the main hangar and considered the best-preserved Blackbird in the West today.

The activities listed above will take place during the museum’s regular public hours (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) and are included with regular museum admission: $10 adults, $5 ages 5-11, free for ages 4 and under. Active-duty military and reserve personnel are free with military ID.

Dinner with the Crew – Join us Saturday evening for a special SR-71 Reunion Banquet starting at 6 p.m. next to the museum’s SR-71 Blackbird with a no-host bar reception followed by an elegantly served dinner of Filet Mignon and Poached Salmon with spring greens, wild rice and glazed carrots along with delightfully delicious chocolate mousse. Proceeds will be used to sustain the museum in its ongoing efforts to preserve the history of aviation through the restoration of vintage aircraft and the creation of educational programs and exhibits.

Tickets for this fundraising event are $80 per person, or $450 for a table of six. Seating for the dinner event is limited, so register today!
