Mayor Valdivia to Host “Team Up to Clean Up” Downtown San Bernardino Volunteer Day Friday, September 20, 2019 8AM -1PM

San Bernardino, Ca.—Friday, September 20, 2019, Mayor John Valdivia is hosting a volunteer clean-up effort along with several volunteer organizations to help revitalize parts of downtown San Bernardino.

The “Team Up to Clean Up” event will include five specific projects: a clean-up effort along Route 66, a clean-up effort along the E Street bridge, a clean-up effort on Court Street surrounding the Courtyard, revitalization of the stage on Court Street with new paint, and planting flowers and plants throughout the downtown area to bring more life to the City. The Public Works Department has designated a Downtown Task Force to ensure the area is maintained properly after all of the hard work that will be done by the volunteer groups.

All of the materials volunteers will use were donated by the incredible citizens and businesses of San Bernardino. The City is thankful to Home Depot for donating plants and flowers for the greenscaping projects, Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches for donating lunch for volunteers, to Wells Fargo, the Civic Center Neighborhood Association, and the City of San Bernardino Public Works Department for donating supplies. The City is appreciative of the volunteer organizations involved for donating their time and talent to help clean up our City. The incredible volunteer organizations involved in the event include the Civic Center Neighborhood Association, Wells Fargo Bank, We Are The Change, Music Changing Lives, San Bernardino Police Explorers, The Inland Empire Job Corps, The Divine Strength Center, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the City of San Bernardino Office of the Mayor, and the City of San Bernardino Public Works Department.
