“Nature at Night” provides parents and children with an opportunity to enjoy the wonders of nature and nighttime adventures. Families will enjoy exhibits and activities while also having the opportunity to watch “A Night at the Museum” which begins at 7:00 pm in the Exhibit Hall. Children are encouraged to wear a nature/animal-themed costume and those who dress up will receive a prize. The event will be on Saturday, November 6 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Mary Vagle Nature Center.
“We want to offer a safe, fun option for our neighborhood kids,” and Nature at Night will give families the opportunity to “learn something about the ‘mysteries’ of nature,” says Community Services Assistant Kara Cromwell.
The Mary Vagle Nature Center is a natural refuge where the public can experience urban ecology, which is the study of wildlife, trees, rivers and natural open spaces found within cities. The center offers several educational exhibits about local plants, animals, geology and history. The Nature Center also offers various programs and activities to families, scouts and schools that incorporate a hands-on learning approach about the natural world.
