Family Fun on Friday

Fontana, California – The Mayor and City Council invite the public to the free Family Art Day on Friday, May 6 at the Art Depot Gallery, located at 16822 Spring Street.

Family Art Day is a free event that has hands on art activities, live art demonstrations, food and live music from the five member Indy-Rock band Vordoux. Family Art Day gives families a fun and exciting chance to share their interest in art.

There will also be a showcase for artist Tina Jennings at the Family Art Night. The showcase will run from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. during which Jennings will show her work, discuss art and answer questions about her abstract artwork.

Jennings’ artwork has been favorably compared to Jackson Pollock’s and other abstract masters. Her art is evocative, using jarring shapes and colors to create images that elicit emotions and ideas that words can’t convey. “I started creating art seriously because this was something that I had to do. It’s kind of like breathing; without oxygen, I wouldn’t be alive,” she says, “I have a passion to create, to paint, to produce.”

Family Art Day will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on May 6 at the Art Depot Gallery, located at 16822 Spring Street near the intersection of Arrow Boulevard and Sierra Avenue in Downtown Fontana.

The Art Depot Gallery is open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Fontana Arts Program focuses on enriching life through art in the Fontana Community. For more information aboutFamily Art Day and other Fontana Arts events and programs, please visit arts.fontana.org or call (909) 349-6975.
