Redlands, Calif., – The Manufacturers’ Council of the Inland Empire (MCIE) announced that it will feature Ed Magee, SVP of Operations for Fender Musical Instruments Corporation as their keynote speaker at the 8th annual Manufacturers’ Summit in Riverside.

Since 1946, Fender has evolved its manufacturing processes with technological developments, always continuing to innovate and maintain its leadership in the musical instruments space. In addition to discussing the company’s rich history in manufacturing and current transformation story, Magee will explore leadership and innovation strategies at Fender.

Currently SVP of Operations for Fender, Magee is responsible for leading all aspects of manufacturing, supply chain, planning, and distribution for the Fender portfolio of products.  Previously, he was the Local Business Unit Manager/VP Operations for LPCW US at Thomas & Betts, and spent 10 years at Harley-Davidson, ultimately leading the $100 million transformation effort for the brands largest vehicle assembly facility.

The Summit will be held at the Riverside Convention Center on February 14, 2019 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  “This year is our 8th annual event and we are pleased to be holding it in Riverside,” stated Molly Burgess, Executive Director of the Manufacturers’ Council (MCIE).    Tickets and registration information for the event, which requires pre-registration, can be found at www.mfgcouncilie.com.  “Open to the public, the Manufacturers’ Council Summit traditionally expects about 600 manufacturers and business professionals to attend,” said Burgess.

The Summit will also feature speakers from Tesla, and a panel discussion titled “The State of Manufacturing.” Breakout sessions will cover exports, apprenticeships, smart factories, and human resource issues.

The Manufacturers’ Council of the Inland Empire (MCIE) provides information on manufacturing topics to manufacturers, students, and the region. Their goal is to be a strong, unified voice within the Inland Empire and state on issues impacting manufacturing. Programming, throughout the year, helps manufacturers find solutions for issues such as: employment, training, regulatory compliance, exports, and funding sources.
