Field trip, “Calico Early Man Site”

Calico – Reservations are now open for a San Bernardino County Museum Association day trip, “Calico Early Man Site,” on Saturday, March 26, 2011. Space is limited; the registration deadline is Tuesday, March 22, 2011.

The trip will be led by Curator of Anthropology Adella Schroth. Participants will walk the trails, learn the history of the site, discuss the controversy of surrounding it, and do some archaeological excavation in the Rock Wren Pit.

The group will depart from the museum at 8:30pm and return by 4:30pm. The cost of $50 per person ($40 for Museum Association members) includes transportation, beverages, and snacks. Wear sturdy, comfortable shoes, a hat, a jacket, and bring a picnic lunch.
