FONTANA: Art Depot Gallery’s Quarterly Artist Showcase Presents Art That Will Be Music To Your Eyes

Art that will be Music to your Eyes
Fontana, California,  -The Mayor and City Council invite the public to view the Art Depot Gallery’s quarterly Artist Showcase, featuring artist Steven Long and his exhibit, on display from July 2nd- August 24th. Pieces are on display at the Art Depot Gallery, located across from the Lewis Library at 16822 Spring St. and the City Council Chamber Foyer, located at 8353 Sierra Ave.

At a young age, Steven Long spent many hours perusing modern art magazines and developed a passion for an abstract view of things. Long’s art education is self taught and a result of many hours spent painting and experimenting with different techniques. He began painting with watercolors and has recently begun to experiment with acrylics. He still uses many of his learned watercolor techniques while applying acrylics in washes.

Steven Long utilizes the sounds of music to stimulate his creativity in all his pieces. “If you try, you just might be able to both see and hear the music in each piece,” said Long. He initially began painting as a hobby, and as time allowed, he entered local art shows and festivals winning several awards. Throughout his professional career he has had the opportunity to travel the world and these experiences have deepened his passion for art. Since his recent retirement from his day-job, Long has embraced a career as an artist and is excited about sharing his work in Fontana and throughout Southern California.

The public is also invited to attend an artist reception on August 3rd for Steven Long from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Fontana Community Senior Center, located at 16710 Ceres Avenue. The reception will have live entertainment, art activities and refreshments.
