Fontana Arts Festival 2010 An Evening of Art and Music

Fontana, California – The Mayor and City Council invite the public for An Evening of Art and Music at the second annual Fontana Arts Festival. The Festival will take place Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m at the Miller Park Amphitheatre, located at 17004 Arrow Boulevard. Participants will enjoy live art demonstrations, art workshops, food, shopping and a live performance by the Bahamian Nassau Steel Ensemble.

Visual arts will highlight the evening at this year’s Festival where visitors will enjoy forty-five-minute workshops and inspiring hands-on activities that will allow opportunities to learn a variety of artistic techniques, while simultaneously improving their own. Visitors will also be mesmerized by the Nancy Sample and Samuel Gonzalez dance showcases, a professional hand-balancing acrobatic act and a Musical Review by Tibbies on the main stage.

Attendees will even have the opportunity to view the work of several artists, including Dodd Holsapple, artist and founder of Dodd Art Inc. and Rickie Dickerson, whose artwork was displayed at the Art Depot Gallery last year.

Fontana’s been good to me …I’m so looking forward to this year’s Festival,” Dickerson said.  “By-golly, I’m even more excited for the workshop I’m holding to teach them [attendees] how to express themselves.” Rickie said referring to the art workshop she will facilitate at the event.

The Festival’s line-up is currently being finalized, but is sure to provide an enjoyable and aesthetically-pleasing experience for all attendees.  Best of all, the event is completely FREE and family-friendly.

In only its second year, the Fontana Arts Festival is well on its way to becoming a favorite of Fontana residents. The Fontana Arts program is dedicated to enriching the lives of residents through concerts, showcases, theatrical shows, visual arts and other artistic activities.  For more information, please visit arts.fontana.org or call (909) 349-6900.
