Pops in the Park – A Summer Symphony in Fontana

Fontana, California,  The Mayor and City Council invite the public to “Pops in the Park” at Miller Park on July 5th from 7 to 9 p.m. The City of Fontana is partnering with the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra for this special musical evening featuring vocal and symphonic pops music by American composers.
The San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra has been serving the Inland Empire community for 84 years and has the experience and talent to conduct a memorable event! The Concert lineup will also feature a special appearance from H. Waring Sharpe, a renowned tenor vocalist.
Planned musical selections at the event will be:
· John Williams’ “Olympic Fanfare”

· Gershwin’s “Strike Up the Band”

· Selections from Grofe’s Grand Canyon Suite

· Patriotic favorites, including Timeless Sousa Marches

· Vocal selections from Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess”

· Great works from Cole Porter and Irving Berlin

· Sondheim’s “Send in the Clowns

Mayor Acquanetta Warren is excited about this concert and had this to say, “We have made large investments in all of our venues to promote cultural opportunities for the great Fontana community. This type of event is exactly what we want for our citizens, especially our youth, to experience.”
The Orchestra’s conductor is Maestro Frank Fetta, an esteemed musician, is also excited about the opportunity to perform in Fontana. “I believe the concert will have something for everyone; it will definitely be an exciting concert.” Maestro Fetta has conducted and directed at many places throughout the United States and has the experience and knowledge to put on a thrilling show!
