Foundation Celebrates Life's Precious Jewels

San Bernardino, CA  – On Thursday April 12, 2012 Time for Change Foundation (TFCF) celebrated 10 years of giving homeless women and children an opportunity to better themselves and their communities during their Gala at The National Orange Show’s Valencia Room.

The event started at 6:00 p.m. with a social hour, and the program began at 7:00 p.m. with Derrick Vasquez and Josefa Salinas, as Masters of Ceremonies. The Pledge of Allegiance was given by Dr. Albert Karnig, and the Invocation by Pastor Owusu Hodari. Local pianist Carol Cooper performed while dinner was served to the event’s guests. Throughout the rest of this portion of the event, the Foundation highlighted its successes for the past ten years by presenting a video which included interviews from Kim Carter, the Foundation’s executive director, and founder, along with several current and past clients.

TFCF took time to acknowledge these women, and all the others that have gone through the program, as Life’s Precious Jewels, the theme of this year’s event. TFCF also saluted some of the unsung heroes that give unselfishly to make our world a better place. This year’s honorees included Ronald & Wanda Skipper with the Dynamic Duo Award, Annie Sellas, Cathy Stockton and Nancy Varner with the Humanitarian Award, Audrey Martinez and Lynn Valbuena with the (Community Pioneer Award), Dr. James Lally (Community Health Champion Award), Youth Action Project (Ramos Family Spirit of Compassion Award), ROHR Will Share Charity (Community Champion Award), and Kiwanis of San Bernardino (Community Service Award).

“Never in a million years would I have thought that God would use me in this way,” says Kim Carter, Founder and Executive Director of TFCF.
